Hi all!

My name is Abbie Wright and I am so excited for another year here at Whittier.  This community has been wonderful and I am so lucky to be a part of it all.  This year will certainly be a productive and successful year for our fifth graders.

I graduated from Stevenson University in the Owings Mills area in 2011 and I currently live with my husband in Carroll County.  The past six years, I have had the pleasure of working in the fourth, second, and fifth grades and have loved it.  This year will be my fourth year in fifth grade and I am so excited because I so very much enjoy the intermediate grades.  :) These past couple years have been wonderful experiences for me.  This community and my team have been awesome in showing support and working towards seeing these students succeed.  I am excited to see where this year will take us!

I have an older sister, Allie, who teaches 8th grade in Carroll County and a younger brother, Dan, who graduated from my alma mater and works for the Department of Defense.  Allie is taking another year off to continue to be with her daughter. Madeleine Claire is a new joy in our lives.  She is one of two adorable nieces of mine.  Dan just recently purchased his first house and is going to get married to my soon to be sister in-law, Courtney in November.  My brother-in-law, Tim,  is a CPA and works at KatzAbosch accounting firm.   Three years ago, I married my Mr. Wright. :) His name is Ryan and he works for Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE).  We have a two year old puppy name Wrigley and enjoy playing with him during our free time. He is a bordoodle (border collie, poodle mix) and has energy for days.  I love ducks and used to own two of my own- Willie and Jase.  They were so fun! :)

My sister and I coach the JV and Varsity cheer teams at my high school, South Carroll.  I have been involved in cheerleading for over 20 years and I still love it!  I also love taking pictures in my free time.

I am so excited to learn more about all of you and see what this school year brings.  If anyone has any questions, please feel free to call or email me.
